Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA)

PREA is intended to address the detection, prevention, reduction and prosecution of sexual harassment and sexual assault in all corrections facilities in the country. Forks Jail has implemented a zero-tolerance policy relating to sexual violence in custody, and recognizes offenders who are sexually harassed or abused as victims of a serious crime. The department immediately responds to allegations, fully investigates all reported incidents, pursues disciplinary action, and refers those who perpetrate such conduct for investigation and prosecution.

If you have information of a PREA violation within the Forks Jail, you can report it by calling the PREA Hotline at 360-374-2679 and leaving a detailed message, or you can email the PREA Hotline at PREA.forks@forkswashington.org

Both the Hotline phone number and email will be checked Monday through Friday 9:00 am through 5:00 pm, excluding holidays.

Please leave as much information as possible so we can investigate the allegation as thoroughly as possible, to include (but not limited to) “Who, What, Where, When, How, Why”.
